Week 90 - Feliz Cumpleaños a mí!

This week was pretty solid. I've already told most of it in my video call home, but I'll let you know just a tad.

Tuesday we were in trio with Elder Vargas and we ate some Marlin(a delicacy here) and some crepes.

Wednesday, Elder Vargas went to the hospital at midnight, so we went and spent the day with him so His companion could go and get changed and showered. He's better now though.

I hope this week goes a little better. Almost everyone in chilpo is getting sick.

Birthday lunch at the high-end restaurant in town. (For real)

Note from Mom: We learned from Gabe's call that McDonald's is quite expensive and really only a place to go on special occasions. Native missionaries are often surprised to learn that McDonald's is not considered high-end in America.

LDS Pouch - Post cards or one-page correspondence only. Fold the letter in thirds and secure the long side with tape about one inch from each end. Do not seal the ends. Stamp and address the blank side as you would an envelope. Use the following mailing address:

Physical Mail - Use USPS to send letters to the mission home (address at top of page) or use DearElder.com to have email sent as mail. The best of both worlds - you write an email, but he receives paper mail that doesn't have to be read from a computer screen. Cost for DearElder.com is $1.20 (to cover international postage).

Packages

Small packages of nominal value may be sent through regular mail. Use the mission home address shown above. If you send a package through a private courier, you will need the mission office number which is 52 777-310-5394. Bulky items should be shipped in padded envelopes to avoid damage. Packages sent to other countries often do not reach their intended destination. When they do arrive, they are subject to customs fees that must be paid by the missionary out of his personal funds. This amount may be equal or greater than the cost of the items being sent.
