Week 88 - Rainy Days, Full of Praise

Water in the street this week
This week, it rained quite a bit. It rains practically every night here in chilpo. It's made it start feeling like a really nice, utah-like weather.

Me pinning Elder Bradshaw against the wall of a Combi,
even though there's plenty of space on the bench
we're sitting on. He wasn't very happy,
and I pretended not to notice, and didn't care.
It does rain a ton here, and floods the streets. And it might rain in one part of the city, but not the other. It's pretty strange. Working has been ok. We found quite a few people, but the majority weren't anything special. A lot of people will say things like "we need to make changes in our lifes and that is the only way we'll ever get blessings from God" and then when we invite them to make changes and get blessings from God, they say no. It was a decently frustrating week.

Ave, her husband, Valeria, Erick, and us.
On the bright side, we did have a little suprise. We've been teaching Elizabeth for a long time now, and the only thing she needs is to get married. She's scared of getting married because her husband has made some mistakes in his life, and she doesn't know if she can do it. But her husband was able to come to church this week! He said he really liked it and is excited to listen to us on tuesday.

Samuel, after church on Sunday.  I'll be seeing him soon!
Gabino is super ready for his baptism, he's just waiting for his interview and he'll be all set. I love that guy, and he has no doubt in his mind that he's getting baptized by the authority of God.

On sunday, we visited Ave and Valeria, and they invited us to some cake for Valeria's birthday. We got a picture with their family. Ave, her husband, and her son aren't mambers, se we're hoping that they'll be able to come unto Christ in this way.

Also, Samuel Esquer leaves tomorrow for his mission in the Salt Lake South mission. He'll go to the México MTC and later fo to utah. We foud some ties that matched one I already had, so we bought them.

My favorite chapter of the BoM recently has been Moroni 7. Study that one. It's a super juicy, doctrine-filled chapter.

Love you guys!
