Week 42 - A Proud Father

12 Weeks training Elder Rivas went by fast!  He is moving on.

June 25

This week, we found some great new investigators named Jorge and Nayeli, and even though they couldn't come to church this week, that doesn't mean they aren't progressing. They're doing awesome! And they're already married, which is a huge thing here. Nobody likes to get married for real here.

We had 2 investigators at church this week, and we have a baptism on Saturday. It's practically a free baptism, but it is one nonetheless.  We're rocking it.
Three generations

Elder Rivas and I got a call for the Assistants on wednesday, saying that Elder Rivas was gonna train! Right after his training. We thought he was going to stay in Burgos and I would go, but he's going to go open area in Acapulco. I'll be chilling here another change. Heck, one more, and I'll hit the year mark without ever leaving the Zone.

The mission is officially too dangerous for female, american missionaries. All the ones that were coming in are getting changed, and the Hermanas here, who knows what'll happen to them. They might get transfered soon, or they might just stay here in Cuernavaca the whole time.

I'm doing fine. Please don't feel sad for me because i've been here a while. I like it here, and it's just beginning to cool down and rain a lot more. If there's any time to be in Cuerna, it's right now. I'm doing just great.

Week 41 - Last Week of Training!

June 18, 2018

Believe it or not, I've been training Elder Rivas for almost 12 weeks, and he's a champ! We're doing great out here in Burgos. Our Investigators are alright, but we're having a lot of fun.

Saturday we did divisions with the Zone Leaders, Elders Contreras and Hanberg. It was super fun to go out and be a missionary with my trainer again, and Elder Hanberg Taught me a ton. It was a party, and I had a great time.

Thanks for all the Birthday wishes! Really, it made my day! (Today) A family in the ward gave me a tie yesterday, and the Elders Quorum sang Happy Birthday, in English! We ate with the Elder's Quorum President, and he and his wife made us super good enchiladas verdes! They were awesome. We finished off the night with some Birthday floats, with coke. Latinos are not really big fans of icecream and soda, but they'll put up with it for their white companions.

Week 40 - Back to the hospital

We really wanted To have people at church. I promise.

Selfie with President and Hermana Ávila, (and their son Sami) in the hospital with us.
This week was really whatever. We have an investigator named rosendo, and we've ben working so hard with him, and he just doesn't put in his part, and he doesn't come to church and cancels lessons at the last second. Its frustrating, especially because he wants us to invite members and everything, and so members just chill with us in the chapel until he cancels on us, but he's so ready and eager to hear us. It's really a struggle to figure out what we want to do with him.

Week 39- Ups and Downs

First of all, Happy birthday to the #1 Guy, Logan Bee! Have a great one, pal!
(Happy birthday to Bethany also)

This week we worked really hard, honestly. We put members in every lesson we could. We brought people all over the place. We set goals and plans with almost all of our investigators, and we were expecting maybe 7 or 8 people in the church. And no one showed up. We passed by for a few of them, and none of them decided to come. They all had made other plans or had left already for something else. It was really difficult, especially because we felt like we had worked harder this week than any other week together. We've made some plans to improve still, but man it's really disappointing when things don't happen the way you thought they would.
