Tag Pic with Mexican Coke |
We started teaching a lady from Oaxaca named Hermalinda. She lives with her brother, who is a member, and she wanted to hear about the church. When we got there she was very quiet, and her kids too. We we kind of confused why she would only say sì or no. but then her brother told us that in the part of Oaxaca in which she lives, they don't speak spanish.
They speak what's called Mixteco. when we realized that, we toned down the intensity of the lesson, and just taught the most basic principles. She is very receptive and humble about it all.
Baptism of Noemi |
Noemi got beptized this week too. She actually got married in the morning, and baptized at 6. Her registro has the same day for Baptism and Marriage. Her daughter got baptized about a month ago, and now they're family is complete. It was a good day!
Elder Fernandez giving service as I supervise |
I've been reading Jesus the Christ, and that's been an adventure. It's very dense, and I have to take it little by little, but it's very good. If you don't already own a copy of the missionary reference library, you should get one. It's awesome!
That's it for the week. It's starting to get hotter here. April, May is when it gets the hottest here. Hope I don't get sent to acapulco next change!
