Baptism this week with Leo and his family |
Saying goodbye to Elder Murrane, who went home this week. |
Elder Contreras' last Sunday in Temixco |
We had our Comida with the wife and son of the Bishop on Thursday. Their family is actually super cool, and we've been getting along with their 9-year-old son Jacob a lot lately. Well, this week, for Dia de Amistad (Day of Friendship) she gave Elder Contreras and me Mexico soccer jerseys! We got a picture with the 3 of us as a team. It was super cool, and they're difinitely not a family I can forget. After that, we taught them how to play Spoons and Sixes. They didn't want us to leave, and honestly, we found it hard to get up and go a little bit, too. It was super fun.
We had a baptism this week. It was for a young person named Leonardo. His Mom and sister are members, but he was never baptized. We had been teaching him and inviting him to pray for about a week, hoping he would accept baptism; one day, when we went to go meet him, he asked, "How many people can I have talk?" 'Talk at what?" we asked. "At my baptism." He had never told us he was getting baptized. He was baptized on Saturday and confirmed on Sunday. He was actually really happy to have gotten baptized. He says he feels a lot lighter and a lot happier.
That was pretty much the week. Elser Contreras spent all of Sunday saying goodbye, and I spent all of Sunday telling people I would see them next Sunday.
Valentine's Day |
I'm really starting to love Missionary work. It gets hard at times, but how could we be patient if we never got annoyed, or how could we learn to be humble, if we never see our weaknesses? How could we learn to see past people's faults unless we experience them? I know the church is true, and if we put our lives in His hands, he will make something more than we can do on our own.
See ya next week!
~Elder Scott
