Our empty refrigerator after 20 days without power |
There's not a whole lot new that we did this week. We were going to have a couple people in the church on Sunday, but they weren't able to make it because they got sick. We'll hope that next week we'll be able to get some investigators progressing again.
This Sunday, we went to eat with some members that live a little far away, and while we were eating, it started to rain really hard. So hard that we couldn't leave the house. we were stuck there and we had to call the Brach President's wife to come fish us out with her truck. We had to stay inside the rest of the day, because, even though the mission provides us with a lot of stuff, they do not provide us with canoes.
I lost my wallet on the bus ride to Acapulco yesterday, too. I lost 140 pesos. That may only be $7.38, but that was all I had for the week. I'll have to buy a new wallet, too. How fun.
With Elder Belknap, who was in the MTC with me. |
Elder Zetten and I are working hard here in Atoyac. He's really working hard. He's a great example to me, and is helping me improve a lot. He's going to be an incredible missionary, and I feel like he's really helped me refocus on the spiritual in the mission. I've spent so much time trying to manage the planning, numbers, and capacitating, that I had forgotten a lot of the basic, spiritual good stuff that is what got me out here in the first place. He's helping me a lot with that.
We spent the day with Elder Belknap from my generation for p-day. We ate with a member in his ward, and she gave us these super delicious things called pescadillas, which are like fish quesadillas without cheese. It was great.
Well, you guys have a great week. I know I will.
Love you guys!
-Elder Scott
