Week 92 - Divisions and Crêpes

Divisions with Elder Fernandez
So this week was pretty solid. We had divisions with two different sets of Elders. I went with Elder Fernández from Chile on Wednesday, and Elder Vargas from Cancún on Friday. It was super cool because both of them have only a few months in the mission, but I was super inpressed at their desire to work and do everything that the Father has asked of them. Honestly, I learned a ton from each of them. Every new generation that comes to this mission just blows me away with how prepared and ready they all are.

We have some members that own a little Crepe shop. They always get mad at us because we don't go enough, so we decided to make it a little tradition to go for some crepes and milkshakes after we finished divisions. It's a really cool way to show the missionaries in our zone that we appreciate the hard work they put in here in the zone. We wanted to reward them for a job well done. The crepes are bomb, btw.

Sunday was a super powerful day at church. President Esquer, the 1st councilor in the mission presidency gave a talk in our ward and it was super powerful. He's a seminary teacher, so has no problem sharing what he knows to be true(which seems to be everything there ever was about the gospel). He talked about not having fear to share the gospel and live our standards. He also said that his mission was a great experience because he was able to use it as a time to serve, already being convinced of the truthfulness of the church. He's a powerhouse.

The bishop also gave a really awesome little class for 5th sunday. He gets really nervous in front of people, and he's only 29, so I think he feels inexperienced sometimes, but he talked about how the gospel changes our lives, and how we need to live the gospel in the same way someone would live Football or Soccer. We need to be passionate about our standards and live them like we love them. It was super awesome.

Gabino's baptism will be this Saturday and it'll be awesome. He's one of the most powerful converts I've ever had. He is willing to do whatever it takes, and he's one of the most humble men I know. I'm pumped for his baptism!

Have a great week. Hablamos en ocho!
