This week, Elder Bradshaw and I have really been working well. I feel like we're going to have lots of success in this area. We found quite a few people this week who are great, and are for sure going to progress. We have lots of faith in the timing of God, and that He'll help prepare the way for them. We should start seeing the fruits of our labors this week.
Mazatlan Cathedral |
We went out to this pueblo called Mazatlán on Wednesday. Mazatlán, not the touristy one in Sinaloa, but the little pueblo in Guerrero. We visited the sisiter-in-law of a recent convert named Gloria, and she accepted a baptismal date. We're going to go with our awesome ward mission leader, Hermano Ayala, to visit her on Wednesday again. She was unable to come to church this week, because it's a little far, but she's committed to come next week.
The ward here is awesome, and the zone is too. I feel like, even though we're not all super-buddies, we all like each other and want everyone to succeed. It's a really cool place to be, even though there is almost nothing to do on P-day. They have told me there is a zoo, but I haven't been. I'll try to go soon.
Today for p-day we played Coup and Cockroach poker. We were waiting for a few other elders, but they ditched us and went to the zoo, instead.
I learned this week that we should always look at ourselves from God's frame of reference, and not our own. Even though we might think we're the best of the best, God knows our full potential, and exactly what we need to work on. We can't afford to let pride or self-doubt enter into us. We need to know that we lack much, but that God only gives us situations we can handle. He loves us, after all.
Have a good week!
-Elder Scott
