Week 46 - Tepoztlán!

July 23

This week has been really great. Elder Covarrubias and I are putting in a bunch of work in Burgos. Sadly, we aren't seeing the results we were hoping for. We were hoping for someone to be in church this week. But, alas, it didn't happen.

Gabe sent no photos this week, but we saw this one from another
missionary mom.  These are some of the Elders who were in the
Mexico MTC together.

What we did do is we went to Tepoztlán in civac. We went as the whole zone of Civac and Cuernavaca. If you don't know what Tepoztlán is, its a place in Morelos that's in the middle of these Giant mountains. Its this cool little town, but the coolest part is this thing called the Tepozteco. Its this pyramid on the top of these giant mountains. You have to hike up to it. But what nobody tells you is it's a 2000 foot elevation change that you climb in 25 minutes. Needless to say, it is a very difficult hike. We got to the top, and President Treviño paid for everyone to go in, which we weren't expecting. We got to check out the temple ruins and take a ton of pictures. (which i cant send because I still don't have my cable for my camera) When we came down, my legs were so sore, they were shaking uncontrolably. We had to take a good break before we could keep going. After, we went and got some icecream, and then we went to the Casa de Oración in the town. President Treviño and his wife made us all tostadas, and they were delicious.

By the time we got home, and showered and changed, it was already 5:30 and we had no time to write. Sorry. But it was definitely one of the best P-days I've had. President Ávila never let us leave the Zone for stuff like that.

It's been a good week. Elder Covarrubias is super cool. We get along great, and her helps me with my spanish a lot.

Have a great week! (Especially if you're in Germany)
~Elder Scott
