Week 12 - Trainer Transfer

So, we only had a five-week transfer this time. I don't know why. But we found out on Tuesday that one of us would be changing. Elder Ortiz got changed. He got called as a zone leader in Iguala. He left this morning, and I got my new companion, Elder Contreras. He's from Arizona, and he's really good at soccer. He even played on Real Salt Lake. He was on the Substitute team, but it's still pretty cool.

Trainer #2 - Elder Contreras from Arizona

So this week has been pretty weird. First, we were supposed to spend Tuesday after our interina and Wednesday in Acapulco, but president told everyone to change their tickets and go home Tuesday. At least we got some tacos al pastor before we left, and went to the beach for 5 minutes.
We went back on Tuesday, and got home at almost 10.

My 5-minute stop at the beach in Acapulco.

On Wednesday, Elder Ortiz had to go to Consejo (council for the leaders, and Elder Ortiz is District Leader) so I went on divisions with Elder Fernandez in Bello Horizonte. It's kind of a hard area, but it was cool. We stayed the night in the house in Bello, with Elder Ortiz, Fernandez, and his companion, Elder Estrada. When Elder Ortiz got back from consejo part 1, he told me that he found out he had been called as a zone leader in Iguala, so I'd have to get a new trainer for the last 6 weeks. It was pretty sad, because I feel like he's been a really good companion, but it's alright, because we're both pretty sure we'll hang out after the mission.

Divisions with Elder Fernandez

Thursday was more divisions with Elder Fernandez...

Friday, we started telling all the members that Elder Ortiz was leaving. He's been here for 6 months, and he's really been a strong part of the ward. The people here all want him to move back here after the mission and marry one of their daughters or granddaughters. The wards been pretty sad.

Saturday and sunday were more of the same as friday. It was rough, but I'm excited to see what he does in Iguala. He's going to be a really good zone leader.

Thats really all for this week. I'll keep you posted with Elder Contreras, and our Temixco adventures.
