This keyboard is in spanish and I'm in English, so sorry for any errors. (NOTE: Gabe's Mom is not above editing)
I love you guys, but I'm not feeling homesick yet. After about 4 days, the days feel like weeks and the weeks feel like days. I can't believe I've been here for 10 days already. My Spanish speaking is better and better every day, but my comprehension is still kinda trash. I imagine it will get better with time, but as long as I do a little better each day, I'm satisfied.
I have plenty of time to play the piano! We have some time between investigator lessons that we can jam out during. My group thinks it's really cool, so we play quite a bit. There are twelve of us in the district. 3 going to Cuernavaca, 2 going to Mexico city South, 3 going to Long Beach California, 2 Hermanas going to Idaho and Colorado, and 2 going to CancĂșn. Our group gets along really well, and its gonna be sad when we all have to leave, but at least a few of them live close by. I've met quite a few Cuernavaca missionaries, but I don't know them super well, except for the ones in my district. There are probably 15 of them, though.
We had a devotional Tuesday, and we live streamed Elder Cook from the Provo MTC. If it's possible, you should find and read that talk. It was powerful, and gave me a lot of strength. He talked about Parley P. Pratt at the start, and it was really cool to hear his perspective.
I love it here at the CCM. The weather is always nice. It never gets too hot, or cold. But it rains. When it rains here, it goes hard. I'm scared to not have an umbrella on me at all times, because of sudden torrential downpours. It rained more on Sunday in one night than SLC gets in a year. It affected me more than the earthquake did.
I love you guys, And I want you to know that. Keep me posted on the news at home.
Oh, I almost forgot. It was Mexican Independence WEEK here last week in La Ciudad de Mexico. There have been fireworks for almost a week straight. Even though it was the 16th, we're still hearing people launch them off all the time. This ain't no "Sink of the Mayo." This is some real celebration.
Love you guys. Talk to you next week. Here are a few pictures.
